I was a Senior exploration geologist before having children, doing 2/2 roster (2 weeks on site/ 2 weeks home). I knew that I had to change my role, being able to work from the office if I wanted some kids. I asked my company at the time if they needed a resource geologist. After few months asking again and again, they decided to open the role and I had it.
I am still a resource geologist but in a different company. My previous company was taken by my current one when I was 6 months pregnant. It was challenging as I had to start a new job, new project and new co workers but it was actually the best thing for my career as I found a great team for mentoring me in my early career as a resource geologist.
